Cheriton proved to be a beautiful chocolate box village with a crystal clear stream flowing through the centre and a number of quaint thatched cottages. The Brick House is located on the main road through the village just a short walk from the centre. It has off road parking. It is on older property which has been tastefully extended and stunningly decorated throughout. It has 2 rooms available for b&b guests one with en-suite in which we stayed for 2 nights. The room was in the extension at the back of the house (meaning road noise was not too much of an issue). It enjoyed double glass doors providing a view of the fabulous garden and woodland beyond; it proved to be very comfortable and was well equipped. Mark, the owner, was very welcoming and friendly. He provided freshly prepared breakfast including his own home made sourdough bread. He was very knowledgeable about the area and offered lots of suggestions of places to visit and of local eateries. We cannot thank him enough for his hospitality and we thoroughly recommend this b&b especially as a base for walking in the surrounding countryside.
We stayed at this fabulous B&B in order to walk some parts of the South Downs Way, which stretches from the nearby city of Winchester all the way to Eastbourne on the South coast. The friendly hosts have lots of information and knowledge of the local area and of this walking/cycling route. The standard of the accommodation at The Brick House is extremely high. The house has recently been renovated and extended, and all the work and furnishing are of the highest quality. The house is set in beautiful gardens We slept well, in a comfortable quiet room, with an adjoining private bathroom. Breakfast was superb. The host makes his own bread, indeed he runs bread making courses, so if you have the time, you could learn how to do so yourself. We can recommend this B&B. If you visit, you will almost certainly want to make a return visit. We do ! It is one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed in
What can I say Mark the owner made you feel very welcome the property was lovley and clean the bedroom was light and airy the decor was very tasteful and the garden was beautiful we had a great nights sleep and breakfast was lovley. Thankyou so much for having us and we will be back again
We spent 5 nights in May at The Brick House and can thoroughly recommend it for ,amongst other things, location, facilities and the warmth of the welcome. The property is tastefully decorated throughout with the beautiful garden an added delight. Mark was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We would certainly consider a return vist and have been recommending The Brick House to our friends back home. Gillian.
We spent 3 nights in this gorgeous home in the South Downs National Park. Mark was ever so welcoming, the breakfasts fantastic, the room very comfortable and walks in the area lovely with old worldly English pubs! Easy to get there and in easy reach of Winchester. Lisa and Mark
We had a lovely stay at The Brick House in Cheriton in September 2018. Mark and Ruth were great hosts. Breakfast was stupendous and the room we stayed in was absolutely beautiful with the best mattress I've slept on for ages. The garden, which the hosts were happy for us to wander around, is sublime. Mark was very helpful with information about the area and helped us find the way to our next destination, recommending places to stop and best ways of travelling. We highly recommend this gorgeous place.
My wife and I had a great night staying at the spotlessly clean Brick House. Ruth and Mark were perfect hosts. Comfortable en-suite room with garden view. Breakfast was delicious. Cheriton is a beautiful village in a historic part of England.
We had a wonderful stay here. Very comfortable room with bathroom designated for our use only alongside our room. Mark and Ruth were perfect hosts and made us so welcome in their home with everything we could possibly need. Excellent bed. Superb breakfast, absolutely delicious and catering for all tastes. All idyllic, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and highly recommend it.
We stayed here while attending a wedding and the house is truly beautiful with all the comforts you would need to include an ensuite bathroom, ample closet space, and an extremely comfortable bed. Tim
Very Comfortable. Comfy accommodation, great breakfast, friendly hosts. Bill
We are already planning our return trip to stay with Mark and Ruth. If I ever win the lottery, I would make an offer for The Brick House - it is a stunning place to stay, both inside and out. We really relaxed. Both rooms perfectly appointed (one room had a bathroom next door - it was the swankiest bathroom I think I have ever been in, so no problems there!). Delicious breakfast, they make all their own bread, and do a mean eggs and bacon. We could have spent all day watching the birds in their beautiful garden and saw two herons. Mark gave us directions to excellent walk in local beech woods. We also ate at the Flowerpots pub (5 min walk) on his recommendation and enjoyed the local ales. Plus had Sunday lunch at The Fox in the nearby village of Bramdean on the way home the next day - which we would also recommend. I wish I owned this property - we didn't want to leave! Claer
This is a gem of a place - 5 star breakfast. the room overlooking the garden has a very scenic outlook, very clean and beautifully decorated. We slept so well in the comfortable bed. Breakfast in the scenic dining room was a real treat, with homemade bread and a 'bespoke' cooked breakfast. We did not want to leave. Bob and Sheila
A wonderful place for a break in a most beautiful area of the country. Our room was excellent with a scenic view and our hosts could not have been more welcoming. A lovely Autumn break, Thank you! Joy and Graham
We've had a lovely time here thank you. The house and garden are beautiful. Thanks also for being so welcoming. Gill and Bob

Everything was spot on, particularly the bed. Janet
Fabulous accommodation in this beautiful home. Every whim was catered for and well thought out. Gorgeous breakfast with great selection of different choices. Fantastic breakfast room with sliding doors out to the stunning garden. Both contemporary and period features, striking the right balance between the two. Superb hosts with good local knowledge. Great pub in the ( very pretty) village which brews its own beer with small selection of very good food. Highly recommended Justine
Fantastically friendly hosts made us feel incredibly welcome. Lovely room and a great breakfast with some of the best scrambled eggs we have ever had! Lovely coffee and home made bread! A short walk to a lovely traditional English pub serving their own beers, highly recommended! Chris
Best B&B I've stayed at. The owners are extremely friendly, interesting and kind people. The house was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom great. The food was amazing. Mark (one of the owners) makes his own sourdough bread, he offered so many delicious and accommodating options for breakfast, it was amazing. Overall, incredibly hospitable. I couldn't recommend any more highly. Maz
Lovely house and Mark was the perfect host. Delicious homemade bread! Lisa
Beautiful boutique property, pristine and elegant. Friendly, welcoming hosts who are very knowledgeable about what there is to see and do in the area. Extremely well appointed and comfortable in every way, and the choice for breakfast was varied, fresh and beautifully presented. An exceptional bed and breakfast all round, we're looking forward to our next visit. Pat.

We took a biking trip to South Downs and surrounding villages and stayed with Mark for one night. We were really amazed by Mark's hospitality and also the beauty of the whole area. In the morning Mark prepared a delicious breakfast, with great home-made bread! Jernej

Comfortable lodgings in a rural idyll! Mark and Ruth were excellent hosts: made us feel very comfortable and were attentive to our needs without being intrusive. Wonderful peaceful location yet with easy access to major trunk routes. Cliff
We have stayed at this lovely B and B twice now and can thoroughly recommend it. Our rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. The hosts were welcoming and very knowledgeable about the walking and cycle rides in this beautiful western end of the South Downs, and even offered to guide us. Breakfast was served looking out over delightful gardens and included home made bread. Helen and Richard
